HG is a side-project of the Slovakian Lahka Muza. I prefer this project for its mysterious and esoteric influence. The music and the bewitching female chants are leading the listener in a mysterious trip of enigma and secret rites. If you know the meaning and content of the Hieros Gamos-rite you'll for sure like the link with the sexy and fetish image of the band. The charismatic female vocalist looks like a cyber-fetish version of Cleopatra in person while her sacred-like vocals are just leading the listener in a state of total devotion.although she probably prefers a total submission! This debut really impresses me. Gudruns voice, reminding me of Diamanda Galás extravagant voice, celebrates pagan rites above the temples of Dark Wave. Admitted, "Fetish Remix" is not the very first work by Gudrun Snake and 677. Both are Members of the influential slovakian Dark Wave band LAHKA MUZA. They created their own project, HIEROS GAMOS ("holy wedding") in 2002 and remixed some of the band´s most beloved songs of the first four LAHKA MUZA albums, and put them together as an artistic concept. Die 1984 von Gudrun, 677, German H. und Dr. K im Kontext von Post-Punk und New Wave gegründete slowakische Band Lahká Múza kann in ihrer Heimat auf eine lange und erfolgreiche Karriere zurückblicken. Als man Sängerin Gudrun vor vier Jahren um eine Special Performance auf dem in Prag stattfindenden Festival „The Other Sex“ bat, war das die Geburtsstunde von Hieros Gamos, mit dem Gudrun und 677 die Komponenten Erotik und Elektronik auf eine ähnliche künstlerische Weise bearbeiten wie beispielsweise Die Form. Mit dem Neun-Track-Release „Fetish Remix“ erhält man einen schönen Einblick in das faszinierende Universum eines Acts, der sich vor allem durch Gudruns fast schon opernhaften, ausdrucksvollen Gesang auszeichnet und bei dem der elektronische Sound nahezu mantrisch-hypnotische Qualitäten aufweist. Repetetive Rhythmus- Strukturen, minimalistisch inszenierte Harmonien üben schnell eine extrem eindringliche Wirkung aus und ziehen den Hörer wie magisch in ihren Bann.  OBLIVEON ( Germany) HIEROS GAMOS – FETISH REMIX

 Hieros Gamos ist das Nebenprojekt von L'ahka Muza-Sängerin Gudrun Snake und so sind musikalische Gemeinsamkeiten zwischen den beiden Projekten alleine schon aufgrund des charismatischen Gesangs natürlich offensichtlich. Hieros Gamos besitzen allerdings einen sehr viel grösseren Einfluss sakraler und episch monumentaler Klangelemente, der mich in seinen besten Momenten ein wenig an die Franzosen Rosa Crux oder auch einzelne Stücke Sixth Comms erinnert und verhältnismässig wenig mit den doch tanzbareren Songs L'ahka Muzas gemein hat. Die Songs wirken bei oberflächlichem Hören wenig abwechslungsreich, doch je intensiver man sich als Hörer mit den neun Stücken beschäftigt, desto mehr beeindruckt die Detailverliebtheit und klangliche Vielfalt dieses Albums, die eine spannungsgeladene Atmosphäre zu erschaffen im Stande ist, und zum Teil sogar einen gewissen rituellen Charakter annimmt, den man sich andererseits aber auch gut für eine Performance vorstellen könnte.
